I’m Christian Staples with Arctic Spas. As you have heard me talk about, one of the main goals as Arctic Spas is to make your spa ownership less about the maintenance. We are constantly looking to make your Arctic Spa ownership easy. While other spas use filters that you have to clean, we have been using maintenance free filters for the last 10 years or so. You are used to a maintenance free oil filter, can you imagine if you had to clean your oil filter, you should also get require that your spa have a maintenance free filter as well. We have now taken the maintenance free to the next level with the ProFilter, short for progressive filtration, meaning that there are multiple levels of filtration that progressively filter out a smaller particle. Sorry to get a little technical here but it is interesting to explore the inside of the ProFilter.

The first layer is what we call filter floss. It will catch your big debris like hair, lint, leaves and such. The second layer catches smaller particles visible to the naked eye such as coarse sand, dirt, and dust mites. The third layer filters out minute particulates some of which would be visible to the naked eye like finer sand, pollen, saw dust, face makeup, and fibers. The 4th layer filters out microscopic particulates invisible to the naked eye like silt, dust, silk, mold spores and dander. Finally, the fifth layer filters out even smaller microscopic particulates like cells and some bacteria.

Then if you look at the filter housing, typical spas have a filter bypass. This means that when you turn the jets on high, some of the water goes around the filter and some gets filtered through the filter. With the ProFilter, 100% of the water going in through the skimmer gets filtered even with the jets are on high speed.

We have also added more technology to make these filters smart. You can check the status of your filters by just a couple of clicks on the Arctic Spa App on your phone. It will actually tell you when to replace the filter or even if the filter is not installed properly. This is much better than the alternative of cloudy water.

We also look at efficiency as an important aspect of managing your Arctic Spa. With this filter being so much more effective that standard spa filters, we can reduce the amount of time needed to filter your water which in turn reduces the monthly cost of operation.

Lastly, and this is the best for the Arctic Spa Users, the ProFilter will last for up to 6 months. You only have to worry about your filter twice a year. When you compare this to typical spa filter that is recommended that you clean each week, this is an amazing maintenance program, just replace twice a year.
